I use MailChimp for my website and many of my client’s websites, but there are many excellent alternatives such as Drip, Constant Contact, Klayvio, and others.
– Grammarly:
For all internet enterprises, this is a must-have too. It helps you avoid grammatical and spelling mistakes in all of your online writing (including emails, proposals, etc.).
– Canva:
You’ll need a tool to produce nice-looking graphics and presentations eventually, and Canva is a great option.
You’ll also require the following free resources:

- Google Search Console.
- Google Data Studio.
- Google Keyword Planner.
- Google Docs.
- Google Slides.
- Google Forms.

My advice is to choose the tools you’ll use and invest some time in understanding how to use them and what capabilities they provide. Because we will limit once your time you deal with customers, it is best to educate yourself with these tools ahead of time.
8. Establish a company model:
The following phase in the process is to identify your business strategy, or how you will charge for your services.
The following are the most common business models for digital marketing agencies:
- Hourly rate.
- Project fee.
- Monthly charge.
Per hour – they charged your services hourly. The pay varies from $30 to $120 per hour, based on your expertise, the client’s location, the type of business, the services you perform, and the difficulty of the task.
Per project — You and the customer agree on a fixed price to execute the job. If your estimates are accurate, you will make a profit; but, if your estimates are incorrect, you may lose money.
Monthly retainer — For the agreed-upon services, the client pays a monthly retainer. Monthly SEO services, PPC management, and social media management are all examples of this.
The monthly charge‘ model is the most profitable, while the ‘per hour’ model is the least profitable.
My advice to new agencies is to start with an ‘per hour’ or ‘per-project’ basis. It’s not the most profitable model, but your goal is to get new clients and develop your portfolio as quickly as possible, and the ‘per hour’ model allows you to change your hourly fee to appeal to new clients.
8. Establish a company model:
We’ve spoken about how to lay the groundwork for your startup agency so far, but you’ll need clients to make it a genuine business. A business with no consumers is only a vision, not a business.
So, how do you land your first customer in digital marketing? Here are a few suggestions that worked for me at first.
Family and friends–It’s extremely probable that one or more of your friends or family members owns or works for a company that may benefit from digital marketing services.
Contact them and offer to assist them with their digital marketing initiatives. Examine their website and marketing strategies ahead of time and come up with a strategy for assisting them in attracting more customers, improving their search visibility, and increasing overall sales.
Because this is your first “formal proposal,” try to be as thorough as possible with your objectives.

Now is the time to think about hiring people to assist you, but first you must set up your processes.
By processes, we mean a collection of SOPs (standard operating procedures) that document all the steps you take to complete a task. This covers the onboarding process for new clients and all the services you provide.
It’s important to accomplish this now, before bringing on new employees, or you’ll waste a lot of time explaining how you want your team to handle client business.
Spend some time generating email templates, proposal templates, custom reports, and checklists that anybody can use to complete a task based on your previous experience dealing with customers.
Don’t complicate things and keep things simple. You may build and arrange your processes in folders using Google Docs and Gmail.
